New Delhi: Foreign direct investments into the nation greater than doubled to $20.42 billion throughout the April-July interval of the present fiscal, the commerce and business ministry stated on Wednesday. “FDI fairness inflows grew by 112 per cent within the first 4 months of 2021-22 ($20.42 billion) in comparison with the 12 months in the past interval ($9.61 billion),” the ministry stated in a launch.

Automobile industry has emerged as the highest sector throughout the interval below overview, accounting for 23 per cent share of the entire FDI fairness inflows adopted by laptop software program & {hardware} (18 per cent) and companies sector (10 per cent), respectively.

Karnataka is the highest recipient state with 45 per cent share of the entire FDI fairness inflows adopted by Maharashtra (23 per cent) and Delhi (12 per cent).

“Measures taken by the federal government on the fronts of FDI coverage reforms, funding facilitation and ease of doing enterprise have resulted in elevated FDI inflows into the nation,” the ministry stated.
