Maharashtra Housing Minister and NCP chief Jitendra Awhad was arrested on Thursday and later launched on bail in a case of alleged assault on a social media person at his home.

Awhad appeared on the Vartak Nagar police station in Thane metropolis in reference to the case on Thursday, stated a senior police official.

โ€œHe was merely taken to police station and instantly given bail,โ€ the BJP chief stated.
