Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Anthony Lynn informed reporters Thursday he hasn’t talked to anybody at USC in regards to the faculty’s head teaching job.

“My sister graduated from USC. I’ve half my household in California. Quite a lot of the fellows that I performed with went to USC. So in fact these guys have talked to me, and that is flattering,” Lynn stated, based on Kyle Meinke of MLive. “However to be sincere with you, I am shocked one thing like this even went public, you already know? I have never spoken with USC in any respect.”

Lynn’s feedback have been a response to a report from NFL reporter Jim Trotter that USC boosters had reached out to Lynn to gauge his curiosity within the head teaching job.

Lynn stated his focus proper now’s “1,000,000%” with the Lions, who he joined this offseason. Nevertheless, he was noncommittal when requested whether or not he’d have an interest within the USC teaching job after the 2021 season ends.

Lynn joined Detroit this offseason after being relieved of his duties as head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers. In 4 seasons with the franchise, he went 33-31 and had only one playoff win.

The Trojans fired head coach Clay Helton earlier this month after six-plus seasons. Donte Williams is serving because the workforce’s interim head coach.
