In her ruling, Choose Beatrice Mukamurenzi stated the Nationwide Liberation Entrance, an armed group that was a part of a coalition led by Rusesabagina, was accountable for assaults on civilians in Rwanda that concerned killings, lootings, arson and assault. She pointed to a 2018 video wherein Rusesabagina says the “the time has come for us to make use of any means potential to result in change in Rwanda, as all political means have been tried and failed” as proof of his guilt.
