A donation made by the Duchess of Sussex has been a “lifesaver” for customers of a neighborhood kitchen in Nottingham, the charity has mentioned.

The charity received a £10,000 donation from Meghan, half of which went to its Salaam Shalom Kitchen and has been used to deal with a rise in demand through the coronavirus pandemic.

The joint Muslim and Jewish kitchen, which is considered one of many solely charities of its sort within the UK, can serve as much as 170 free meals in Hyson Inexperienced every week – up from about 70 per week earlier than the pandemic.

“The Duchess’s contribution has been a lifesaver for a lot of, many individuals,” charity trustee Bilal Hussain mentioned.
